Hotfix: “Replica is inconsistent” error with ID 112 (0x8007007B) with DPM 2007 SP1 on a Windows Server 2003 x64

After applying Data Protection Manager Service Pack 1 on a server running Windows Server 2003 x64, a replica may be listed as inconsistent with error ID 112 (0x8007007B).
In the DPM Administrator Console, a critical alert may be listed as in the following example:
